Anthony Youdeowei (Tony) is the Managing Director of Sahara Power Group of Companies with operations in Africa, UAE, Geneva, and Singapore. He has oversight responsibilities for the operations of the Power Generation and Distribution companies within the Group.
These companies include Egbin Power, which is the largest Power Generation plant in Nigeria, First Independent Power Limited (FIPL): a consortium of four power plants in Rivers State and Ikeja Electric: the largest privately owned Power Distribution Company in Africa where he is responsible for providing the strategic direction, transformation, and growth of the Sahara Power Group.
Tony attended King’s College, Lagos and has a BSc. In Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos. He also holds an MSc. And a PhD. in computation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), in Manchester United Kingdom.
Tony started his professional career as a Computer Programmer/Analyst with EDS Limited in the United Kingdom and went on to work as a Database Administrator, Business Analyst, Project Manager and Consultant with reputable organizations such as WorldCom, Accenture, and T-Mobile.
He was the Managing Director of Sahara Group Limited between 2010 and 2015 and then served as MD/CEO of Ikeja Electric between 2016 and 2019. He has over 24 years of experience working on diverse projects across countries and is an experienced Business Leader, Project Manager, Information Technology and Business Transformation professional.
Tony brings his wealth of experience on board as a member of the Advisory Board of Hiwees towards building sustainability for the future of the entertainment industry through his excellent skills in business transformation.
